Sarah wrote this comic; gotta give credit where credit is due. She had some presence of mind coming up with this that escaped me in my Dayquil daze, and zeroed in on that food poisoning angle for some damn comic gold. We had a good laugh about it, the two of us on either side of a bathroom door, the laughter punctuated by flatulent notes, but by the end of the day her ailment had passed and I was stuck with a stuffy nose and a comic to do. Such is life…

I will say the three panel format is nice. Got this thing done in about 5 hours of work total (even if it took me a week to finish), so this will probably be my format of choice over the coming years. Art school is cuh-razy busy, and we’re doing a LOT of stuff that is eating up a LOT of time. I’ll try to post as often as I can, but if it comes to once every couple of months I apologize ahead of time.

Ok, lemme start with my usual apology and move on to my customary excuse. “Please excuse the lateness of this comic, blah blah blah, my brother snapped a tendon in his leg and it torn off fragments of his tibia with it so he had to have  three screws surgically inserted into his leg to fasten them down and he now has to wear a leg brace for four months so the tendon can heel and I’m scrambling to keep with him because he can’t do anything for himself cuz his leg is busted blah blah blah thats why the comic is late blah blah blah.”

Yeah… its been a pretty shitty week.  He’s recovering from surgery pretty well, but he’s still stuck in the brace and basically stuck in crutches or a wheelchair if he wants to move around, so I’ve been trying to give him a hand where I can until school starts. Needless to say its pretty time consuming, and when you combine actual responsibility with my usual laziness, comics take a loooong time to get finished, so again, my apologies to you all. I appreciate your bearing with me in spite of my constantly tardy comics; it means quite a bit.

At any rate, the comic is up now, we’re back to the pre-arc style, and I think it came out pretty well. Can I just say, Adam West has a weird freakin face when he’s dressed as Batman? Seriously, google him, he is not easy to cartoon.

Hey guys, long time no see!
I’ve been taking classes all month so I apologize for the delay getting the last two comics of this arc out (one more to go now!). My schedule has been full as full can get: up at 5am to drive into the city so I can beat rush hour and get decent parking, then classes from 8 to 4, then home, then homework. ‘Tis busy, and on top of all that we somehow found time to celebrate Sarah’s birthday (She is 20 years old now yay Sarah!) and unearth this fantastic collection of H.P. Lovecraft’s writings that I have been devouring in my free time. Today has been the first solid block of free time I’ve had, though, so I sat down and got this comic colored. Classes end next monday so I will definitely have the last comic of this arc out sometime next week.
I gotta say, I feel pretty bad about this comic being sooo late in the month. So here’s what I’m thinking: would you guys be at all interested in seeing what I’ve been working on for my art classes? I’ve been taking an Intermediate Drawing class and I think I’ve got some cool stuff to show for it, so if you guys are game I’ll see about posting pictures in the scrapbook. Don’t worry, if I do I will provide a link with my next post.
Anyways, thats what I’m thinking. Looking forward to wrapping up this arc next week! See you all then!

I think at this point its safe to say that these aren’t going to be a weekly thing from here on out (seeing as I only managed to do that once and we’re already halfway through), especially now that I’ve got finals coming up this next week. Three projects and two tests due next Thursday, Friday, and the following Monday. Yippee.

I tried updating the blog page about this but it wasn’t working for some reason; we’ll look into it later. For now we have something very special for you guys.

This comic marks the beginning of an 8-part storyline that will be updated weekly until it concludes. So from now until sometime in early May, SDA will have a new page posted every week. I was lucky that my drawing class had a comic book assigned; I was able to kill two birds with one stone by making it about SDA and I was able to invest a lot of time into the project as a result. Here’s hoping it shows ^_^
So tune in next week for the continuing adventures of the SDA Crew and the Big Wrinkly Book!
